April 2007 Child Abuse Prevention Campaign
The safety and protection of children continues to be a concern we all share. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. We are also entering into the season of Lent. Many of us find Lent a time for prayer, repentance and a time for healing.
The following links are resources, which may be helpful to you, your teachers, your parish and campus ministers. Child Abuse Prevention Month provides the opportunity for the Archdiocese of Chicago to join other Church groups, child protection agencies and civil agencies as we engage in prayer and activities that will keep the protection of children forefront in our parishes, schools and everyday awareness.
Let us not lose focus of the commitment we all share as a Church to protect children and young people-to keep their joy and trust alive, to keep them safe and to help them grow in Christian maturity.
