No Name-Calling Week

January 23 - 27, 2012

No Name-Calling Week was created by GLSEN and Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing and has more than 50 participating organizations. It generally takes places the fourth week of January annually. In 2012 No-Name Calling Week is from January 23rd to the 27th. This week was inspired by a young adults novel 'The Misfits' by James Howe.

No Name-Calling Week is an annual week aimed at ending both name calling and verbal bullying of all kinds. It focuses national attention on the problem of name-calling in schools and aims to provide students and educators with the tools and inspiration to launch an ongoing dialog about ways to eliminate name-calling in their communities.
